Can someone help me please.... got my BT Dongle today.... I can send files to my PC from my P800 no problem, but I can't send files to my P800...

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong, is there a particular port or a funky trick i can do to make it work?

Advice and help would be very appreciated.

Okey dokey....

Here goes.... after installing the latest version of bt500_1327 (you need to uninstall your previous drivers first) you need to bond you P800.

Then check the box on your P800 allowing constant access from your PC.

After this open your "Entire Bluetooth Neighbourhood" and find you P800.

Right click on your P800 icon and choose properties

Click on the tab hat says "Authorizations"

Then simply allow the Bluetooth Serial Port

Now try connecting to your P800 from your PC by clicking the tray icon and choosing Quick Connect / Bluetooth Serial Port / *YOUR P800 NAME*

Make sure you P800 BT is now set to ON and not just discoverable.

It will make a sucessful connection and then fail shortly afterwards (Ill explain why in a min)

However leave it for a few seconds and you'll see a message come up over the tray icon saying that the P800 is trying to connect to the PC. Click the icon once with the LMB

Now its all sorted and you should be able to choose any file, right click on it, choose send as, Bluetooth, then the name of your P800.

You're P800 will either ask you wether you want that file or not or may auto except (depending on your P800 BT settings)

There you have.... What is confusing is that you get that error message which is misleading.... what happens is the P800 for whatever reason doesn't like having its COMM port open by something else... but if you alow the authorization after the P800 closes the port, it then immediatley opens it and trys to open the PC. when u click the tray icon it tells the PC to open the port. i could be totally wrong about the P800 and its comms with the PC description but it definatley works.

Also it allows any file to be transmitted.... not just recognised ones like jpg, gif etc... i tested uploading a .zip, .wad and a made up extention of .flg (well i made a txt file and renames it test.flg)

Anyway hope this helps any of you....

now ive gotta work out the wirefree internet through bluetooth though im sure someone has done it before so ill do a search on the net first.
