I really don't think that the BT MP3 player will be a good substitute. It will be VERY expensive by the looks of it, and will therefore not appeal to the general public...
I think that there should be a new version of the MP3 player which uses the same layout as the latest Radio handsfree which works much better with the connection to my T68 than the good old HPM10...
I really like the Radio HF actually! Well done SE! |

I have the HPM-10, and it has stopped working correctly. The connector that goes in the bottom on the phone doesn't always work. It has to be in a special position to work. The slightest touch will stop the music. This means zero portability, which makes it pretty useless.
I've heard others have problems with accessories that connect to the bottom of the SE phones. Surely some never experience problems, good for them. But the solution with those connections isn't that good.
So bluetooth seems like a better solutions. Sure its a bit more expensive, but I don't think SE wants to develop 2 new MP3 players. And because HPM-10 use MMC cards and not the Sony memsticks, they won't just "facelift" it to look like the new radio.

The point I was trying to make was that the connector for the radio handsfree has a new layout, and therefore is not prone to the glitches that the old MP3 player had... I had the same experience as you with the MP3 player although it got much better after having had the phone in for service after complaining about the poor connectors and difficulties with the MP3 player and the camera. So it might also be an issue with your phone!
But no such problems at all with the radio handsfree. Never disconnects! So my guess is that this is the new style of the accessories with one connector thingie, and then the actual accessory further up on the lead... |

I got a hpm 10 for 20quid, and its shite. Theres only one way to solve the connection problems with it, and thats butchering and doctoring a rs232 ericsson cable to fit between them.
