My hpm-10 mp3 player started to go "bad" some time ago. I have to twist it to a certain position to get it to work. With the headphones on, you can hear static when the connection is lost, and ofcourse if the music is playing - it stops. Even when I get it to work, you almost don't have to touch it before the music stops

I guess it is the connectors on the mp3 player thats the problem. Can I repair it somehow myself? How?

(Tried it with another phone too, same effect. There's no warranty on the mp3 player now.)

Go get a bottle of CD cleaning fluid and a stick of cotton bud. Apply it and clean the metal contacts of the MP3 attachment carefully. Observe if there are any oxidation on the metal contacts (which the fluid can't remove). If there is, get a small, clean screw driver to carefully scratch off the oxidation. Then clean with CD fluid again.

The above should solve your problem. My MP3 att is almost 2 year-old and still works well.

I tried some cleaing fluid for video tapes. "Iprepo..[someting] alcohol". It didn't help.

I think its the connector on the mp3 player that needs to be in a special position. Maybe I'll try to open it op and try to fix it.

Got any tips on opening a HBM-10?
