Yep, I did promise but I'm afraid I haven't got a lot to report - I haven't had much time recently to play with the BT anymore. As a quick summary, I had lots of problems with BT and my P800 but as far as I can tell, these are all down to the P800 or PC Suite software:

I have tried just about every BT software package I can find (tecom, msi, bluetake, billionton and TDK). They are all very buggy and the worst ones constantly crashed explorer. I have finally settled on using TDK and followed a guide I found (someone posted the link on this forum). This software seems ok and doesn't crash.

I have basically only tried a couple of things with my P800, firstly running Bemused to control winamp (basically a serial connection, initiated from the phone to the computer). This seems to work fine apart from some bugs in the program, but the connection stays up indefinitely, and if I go out of range, there is no problems re-connecting from the phone. Secondly, I have tried conecting the serial port from the computer to use PC Suite. To my understanding, when you do this, the P800 closes this connection and opens another one from the phone to the computer. This seems to work, but dies EVERY time after 30secs-2mins whenever I try to transfer anything, sync, etc. It is very annoying as I don't know what is causing the problem - it almost works but is currently unusable.

I also had problems with my home PC Suite (Phone connection manager) not detecting my BT COM ports but this turned out to be a hardware conflict with my modem (answered by someone in this forum - cheers) which I had to disable.

So, all in all, I don't think there is anything wrong with the tecom dongle itself, but nearly all the BT software (except TDK) is completely buggy, and there are many other problems that are causing problems, but I don't think these are limited to the tecom. My reckoning is that most of the dongles out there are identical in terms of hardware anyway. If you're gonna get a BT dongle, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be tecom, but be prepared for an uphill struggle. People may post on here to get X dongle as it works for them but I would be very wary - I think the setup of your PC in terms of OS/hardware/config has alot to do with whether it works or not.
