i thought it was a pain at first but then soon realised it's far quicker to input text with hand writing recognition, T9 supposed to allow you to compile the message quicker than the normal way... and does works well. The problem i had was having to use 2 hands when composing a message.. stylus in one hand and the phone in the other, we have all been used to doing messages etc with one hand. However if you grow your thumb nail slightly you can easliy develope the technique where you can input the text even quicker with hand wrighting recognition using your thumb nail instead of the stylus, also you only need one hand..

Practice.... it gets easier and far quicker than any T9 method..

Infact once you get used to it you hardly use the stylus at all

Actually I am also a proponent of returning the T9 input method to the P800.

One can see a similar implementation of this input method by the creator of the application "myBuddies".

One of the problem I have with the current hand recognition is when writing strings of characters like "call me". The place moment you finish writing the last "l" in the word call if you write the "space" too quickly you will get "calt" instead.

I also cannot seem to consistently get the characters "&" and "_" written via the hand recognition on my P800.
