Siemens M55 is an improved S55, so just do a web search for S55 reviews. Or look in www.club-siemens.com
Siemens' has a full Java implementation including sockets. And the ringtone volume is very loud, but starts out softly to prevent ear damage.

be aware that the m55 has no bluetooth and no irda (while the S55 has) - so you have to use serial cable for connections to any other device... |

it's both an upgrade and downgrade when compared to the S55.
upgrade over the s55 because the screen is capable of displaying more colors (4096 i think, or even more), and general multimedia handling is improved.
downgrade because it doesn't have BT and IrDA.
it's a matter of choice, really if you would prefer a business-oriented phone or a multimedia-oriented phone.
