i dont know why, but mobile phone monitor doesnt work on my pc. Therefore not a lot of software that sends files via IRDA work. is there any software that can send themes and files other than midis and pics to my phone, that does not require MPM to work?
Many thanks in advance

Why not just use the built in IR software in Windows? (I am assuming you are using windows).

i have windows 98se, problem is, when i right click and press send to ir receipiant, it comes onto the program i can enter on my computer. And that brings up a message saying make sure i have infrared turned on. and when i try to send files to my pc from my phone, it always says connection failed. Why?

It could well be that you have the transfer rate set too high. Drop it to 9600 baud and make sure that you set it half-duplex rather than full duplex.

Hey, I have the same prob as Hingus 2000 when trying to send pics from my phone to PC. Have changed the transfer speed to 9600 in infra-red properties but this does not seem to make a difference. I cant find any option to change to half-duplex though. Any ideas on how to sort this problem? Im using Win98SE aswell.......

If you have an onboard IRDA device (plugs into your mobo) then you need to go into your BIOS and change the duplex mode from there.

If after that you are still unable to send and receive to your phone then you may need to have a look on the m$ support website to see if this is a common problem for which they have a fix/workaround.

Huh? We are talking about the IR device on your computer.

When you switch on your computer you should get a black screen with lots of white text. At some stage it will say something like "Press INS to enter setup", or something similar. I believe that for Award Bios's you press "DEL" and for AMI Bios's you press "INS". You need to press the button before windows starts to load. If you want more time to red the black and white screen simply press the pause/break key and then when you are done, press any key. Just have a good look at the startup screens and read which key you need to press.

Post number 5: Set the duplex mode to 'half-duplex' rather than 'full-duplex'.
