Does anybody have this - http://www.silvermead.co.uk/mp3plus/tx101.html

The TX-101 Wireless Adaptor.

DOES it have a charger which works through the Lighter socket in the car or is it ONLY battery operated? Because it says it has 2xAAA battery operation but only 12 hours working time with that ... i mean it's enough as the phone will only play music off a full charge for 6 hours anyway - but still to have to chnage battery every 12 hours is ALOT to be fair! Alot of spending on batteries will result - if abattery operation is the only option I'll probably go for a £5 tape one which requires no power and is only £5 to start with!

IT IS DESCRIBED AS: This is a great little unit for use in the car or around the house. There are many 'tape' based products on the market, but unfortunately if you only have a CD slot on your player it is of little use to you. This is where the TX-101 comes in. (Also from a security point of view you can press play and then put the unit in your glove compartment or boot!)

Connect the TX-101 to your portable MP3, CD or Minidisc player via the 3.5mm audio jack, select one of the 3 pre-set frequencies (88.0MHz, 88.4MHz or 89.2MHz) and then simply tune your FM radio / receiver into that frequency and then you can enjoy the music.

* Frequency Selector 88.0Mhz, 88.4MHz, 89.2MHz
* Distance of Transmission 3-5 Metres
* Jack Plug 3.5mm mini stereo
* Dimensions 76mm Diameter, 19mm (H)
* Power Switch On / Off (Slide)
* Batteries 2 x AAA (1.5v), supplied
* Battery Life 12 hours (Apprx)
* DC Cord For in car use

I've never seen it, but the description on the web site you posted says "Package contains DC Cord for in car use, 2 x AA batteries", so there shouldn't be a problem.

...snip

yep. I have been using one of those for a year or so and it works great. standard headset jack that works with most portable audio equipment. Its battery only but you could use your own rechargeable batteries in it.

I mostly use it with my ipaq combined with 5gb toshiba 1.8" hard drive on which I have all my music.

They are cheap enough so go get one!

Some car stereos have a line in connection. The best solution sound quality vise is to connect the phone etc directly to the stereo using a 3,5 > 2,5 adaptor which you can make yourself.
