Just for your info, i just came back from Cebit.
I checked the software info on the t68i and it was the R2A 011
However, i tried to get the software version of t68m with MMS and there was no S/W version (just the normal numbers after the s/w name but without the name)
Also i inquired about what software was on that T68m so, the guy from SonyEricsson that this is because it is a test version and not a public release.
Asking about when the mms software for the t68m is going to be released in the UK, the guy strangely enough was from the SE UK staff and he assured me that the mms upgrade will be available in the UK (dono about other countries)
I Tried the MCA- 20 on my R1B T68m and it did not work, but the guy told me that it will work with the MMS upgrade (I saw it work later on the day). (He also told me that the difference between it and the MCA- 10 was the higher resolution and the ability to store pictures on the MCA- 20 itself with a higher capacity (not sure about the figures)).
Most importantly, that guy told me that they are exactly identical, except for the new cover and the blue led’s (The battery doesn’t have a rubber back)
Ya, I just remember he also told me that technically he told me that it’s the exact software upgrade for both the phones.
Mmmm, I forgot to test the speed of the SMS, but all I can say that the menus were the same speed, But when you change (background, theme, enter service menu) a Sand Watch like the windows one appears and it’ll take about five sec’s to change.
When you start the T68i, it takes about twice the time of my t68m, but instead a SonyEricsson movie is played.
The t68m with mms that I saw was very similar to the grey one but with a slight touch of green.
I haven’t relaxed since I came four hours ago so, am going to sleep… anyway I’ll check it tomorrow morning after I wake up. I will be able to answer your questions.

Sorry i forgot a very important bit. That is that the SonyEricsson guy (who’s from the UK) told me that the mms upgrade will be available for public in mid to end of May (depending on the location of the service points)

Mmm he told me that some would have it before the others (It will just be a difference of a week or so)
However, i could not get him to say which ones is it gana come first on.
He also suggested that we call up Vodafone and nagg them about the MMS so that they will release it. (So we can have our upgrade)
I hope that answered your inquires...

Farhed---> So, imagine you didn't have a phone now and you had the choice between the T68i or T68m, same software. Which would you choose????

Thanks

As i said its up to the bloody networks to,if the networks had MMS out already we all would of had the MMS upgrade already,so whats the use, SE are trying to perfect the SW so we can have the best SW version on our T68..thats my guess ,but as some other nutcase in the forum said that there will be no MMS upgrade then SE are gonna really hear a lot of shit from me and hopefully from all of us,this info better be not true for SE sake

If SE cared that much about optimization of the software, then the phones wouldn't be this damn slow. It's all about business, man! Releasing it any earlier than the new phone would hurt the market for T68i.

I know it really sucks this marketing trick from SE what do they think we were born yesterday doesnt it make you sell your T68 and get something else??Oh well i guess i will wait a little bit more but truely its pissing me off the fact that you can buy the T68i and not be able to get the MMS upgrade

Well, we would actually be able to get the mms-software, even if our network doesnt support mms.

Reason is,..theres a so called "software-switch" that the operators can turn on. Meaning when mms is available on the network, they "push the button".

I dont know if this is exactly what they do with this mms-feature, but technically its possible.

So I dont think SE is delaying the mms-upgrade because networks dont support it.
Because as explained before, that doesnt matter,..we would still be able to use the other stuff in the software,..just not the mms-part.

What the SE guy told me that they are exaclty the same, but that the MCA- 20 stores more on it making it look like there are a difference..
anyway am not coferming that it dosen't, but that i am 90% sure it's the same.
