Opera wont work but Default Browser does |

I am having a couple of strange problems with my P800. Since a recent firmware upgrade I have reinstalled Opera but get nothing on it, even though I can connect fine via GPRS using the default browser. Opera just hangs there saying Connected but does nothing. At the same time I am having a problem syncing my phone to Mightyphone.com When I connect up to sync up I get the same message Connecting, but nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks Matthew |

see if you can use opera with the p800 connected to your computer (which is of course connected to the internet via BT, IR or cable. If that works, call your cell provider and asked if they limited web surfing via wap and if so see if there are any extra charges for using a regular internet gateway (and get the settings for the internet account if the extra charges are acceptable to you) |

The default browser seems to be more reliable and capabale than Opera anyway. I'm thinking of uninstalling it as it seems to be literally a waste of space. Anyone else agree?

opera would work with GPRS-Internet but not GPRS-wap setting. |

Opera is way cool compared to the builtin browser. Aside from WAP, it also supports lots of W3C recommendations and also javascript and DOM (I was blown away when I looked at one of the admin site I was working on which uses DHTML heavily)
But that's just me (= Also, you can toggle between the SSR technology and normal screen size (like how it would appear in the builtin browser) |
