I just saw the specifications of Siemens SX1 mobile. It is possibly the best phone ever. Better than even Nokia 3650 and SE P800. Well, that is what I felt after doing a quick comparison. Any comments? Does anyone know its approximate street price in US and Germany or elsewhere in the world? |

Actually the price for now is about 800-900 Euro! And it doesn't have Touchscreen. But yes, It is better then P800, cause it has 24 internal memory, video cam, 65k color screen, 4 dl & 2 ul GPRS and some more. But it is based on Symbian 6.1... P800 on 7 as I know...

SX1 is def the best phone coming out
the browser better be good tho
or I'll be pissed
that is my only draw back from all phones (except P800), the browsers suck!

I think you guys are underestimating the abilities of a touch screen. How difficult would it be to type in the url for instance without a touch keyboard or hand recognition.. You would have to use those UNFIMILIAR layout of those dial keys etc..
I think this is the biggest limiting factor of the phone... |

how do u enter URLs on a none touchscreen phone?

there are many apps put there that make typing easier.
Ie Keystick it's all based on the direction pad (3650)

Firstly I have a name and it is not GUY !.
Secondly I suppose you have used the very different keypad that exists on the sx1. I am sure it is very different using that layout then the normal nokia/ericsson keypad. Sure, you need a week or 2 to get used to it, but still would be easier to use an input method which is available at the moment. lets see...... if you want to press a "k" for instance, it is not the middle button in the second row x2.. COS THERE IS NO SECOND ROW.. SO how can you tell me you are just as fast when you havent evn tried it.

On the SX1 you will even be quicker than on a normal phone because you can use both thumbs to type.
I bet every kid is used to the keypad layout within two weeks....
Siemens will also provide apps and games so that you can learn to type more easily |
