Well i finally got my act together... now i wanted to see if you could change the cover on the t68m yourself... (so you perhaps could get the new t68i look) (or if you had the t68i the other way around) i made sure i was probaly grounded and removed the screws in the back, the antenna cover and found out to my suprise that the cover was pretty stuck... i didnt want to use violence... so i put the poor thing back together... when i turned it on i didnt get gprs signal... "strange" i thought but took no further notice of it... then i recieved a call which i picked up with my brand new hbh-15 headset... but the sound was scratchy in my end... hmm bad reception or something i thought... then i tried to sync with my pc over bluetooth.... gave me an error i had never seen before... now i was worried... i quickly found out that the screws at the antenna part werent tightened as probaly as they should be... i did that... and voila.. gprs was back on when i turned on the phone... i made a call with my hbh-15 and the phone turned off.......... i turned it on... typed 3 digits of my pin code... and it turned off... then on ... then off... i was stunned... i messed around with it a bit more... but with no luck whatsoever.... ((((( it's dead!!! ((( going to my sc tomorrow at 7am... (great opening hours...) i sure hope they can give me a new one right away as they did the last time i had problems... but if not... then im screwed... i dont want a replacement t68i that dosent look cool... and NO WAY am i going to try a cover change again.... to be continued......... |

If you do something with your phone by your self the garanty will be lost. And they will pay you for everything that you self have made. |

Good luck with ur sc! I think a lesson is to be learnt here - leave it to the experts, everytime i take something apart i break it! At least u didn't drop it down the toilet like that other poor bloke in another forum! Ed

Unfortunatly, dropping the phone in the toilet, or expose it for any equivalent damage, is not covered by the warranty either.
About switching covers, I have always told those Nokia fans, that my phone has a nice cover from the beginning, so I don't have to switch it, and the T39 may become rather rare now since has decided to end the production of it, so I have no plans to either replace its cover or even open the phone. But in the case of the baby-blue T68i I might change my opinion...

part 2: phew.. the sc looked at it and gave me a new one... well there's a lesson to be learned here i think... don't mess around with stuff you don't know anything about so im on my 3rd t68 now same as the previous... 01w45 r1a with software r1b which he updated to r2b013 (for free... although he told me software should only be installed if the phone is malfunctioning... ericsson dont pay sc's to do it) |

Well all's well that ends well! I'm on my third T68 also, the first one terminally crashed and the second had a dodgy key! This one seesm fine though - third time lucky!
