If its done at a SE service centre, I don't see how this can affect your statutary 1st year warrantly. It could affect any extended warranty that Orange may have sold if it doesn't meet their Ts&Cs. What you normally find though is that the vast majority of people you speak to at these call centres are pretty mentally challenged and you probably asked them a question which wasn't in their script (not all of course, just the vast majority).

Well, I'm happy to say that my experience of Orange has been good! On the other hand I found O2 a real dinosaur. Yes, I agree that sometimes when you call the people only know the basics, but if they cannot answer my questions they've either put me through to someone who can or have always got someone to call me.
I'm on R1D and have had very few problems, although I also would like to upgrade. I rang Orange and they said to speak to SE, but that there were no upgrade issues. SE gave me two contacts relatively close. I've only rang one, and they wanted the phone for 24 hours . Still, I've not tried the other one yet, and I hear that there are places in the west end of London that'll do it while you wait |

Hi MadTaffy,
STILL the same problem here in Aberdeen. The only SE centre is CPW and they are refusing to upgrade Orange P800's.
I'm going to call Orange today and tell them either they sort the problem out or they can stick their phone where the sun don't shine (normally Wales !!!) ......only joking
I need R2D to sort BT issues and like you, I'm stuck in the middle

Mine is on Orange, and I just took it in to a centre in Cotteridge for upgrade. Got it back an hour later with the added benefit of it being de-oranged. Same with my work colleagues (4 P800s on Orange upgraded so far). If you want to try the blag route, brasso is quite good at getting the Orange logo off
