I just changed from a T68i to a T610. I have installed all my data accounts, and paired all my BT devices. I can use lots of BT connection software like Mobile Agent. I can also use GPRS for WAP and Email on the phone.

I cannot get it to connect to the net as a BT modem, eithey through my Sony Clie, or my laptop, as I did with the T68i. I changed around the CID number to try all the different accounts, but none works. The two devices set up a BT connection, but the phone does not attempt to connect to the net.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm sure I'm missing something very simple.

Thanks,

Ronan

I was having similar problems and then I discovered this faq in the UK Clie support site:

Solution C0843
Description: When trying to make a connection to the internet on my
CLIE handheld using SonyEricsson T68i as a modem, I get the
following error message on my mobile phone: Bluetooth connection
lost.
Solution: This issue occurs when the phone is in Discoverable mode.
To resolve this issue: Make sure the CLIE and the mobile phone are
paired. On the main screen on the mobile phone, click Connections,
Bluetooth, Operation Mode, On. Do NOT select Discoverable.

For the T610, I just needed to change the Bluetooth visibility option
to "off", after the phone and the Clie were paired (bonded).

Here is the URL:

Once I switched off the "Show Phone" in the Visibility option under Bluetooth in the T610, the bluetooth / GPRS connection worked fine.

Do you use *99***1# as telephone number for dialup? (provided your GPRS connection is the first one)
