I bought the T68m recently on Orange, I do not understand why they have to put that horrible badge on the front....
Anyone else has that horrible Orange badge on their phone?? |

My orange phone doesnt have it on,it was an upgrade from Car Phone Warehouse, if it bothers you that much I suppose you could buy a spare cover |

I actually bought one earlier without the badge....then i decided to give it back...and then decided to buy it again (my own fault really should have kept the original)
It just annoys me sometimes that Orange always want to do things differently!!

If you do that your warranty will be void, I know this because one of my mates done this and his phone broke (Nokia). Orange wouldn't do anything about it, They sent his phone back to him.
They wouldn't pay out on the insurance!

Ok, but how do Orange know which handsets were produced with or without their logo on? Last week I bought a T68i and it didn't have an Orange logo on it. I hope nothing goes wrong with it otherwise how will orange know that it came without a logo on rather than me rubbing it off!! There's no way I want my warrantly invalidated!
Does anyone have a confirmed reason why some have logos and others don't? I call Orange recently and they just said that my phone should have the logo on it.
Also if there isn't a Orange logo do the standard gsm phones not have 'T68i' printed in small letters at the bottom?
Other than that I am really pleased with the phone, which is my first one that hasn't been a nokia! |

I have heard that nail varnish remover works very well also.
Put some on a cotton bud and rub gently.
I don't know about the warranty being invalidated if you remove the logo. What happens if you happen to drop the phone or stand on it and that part of the fascia is worn off. Would they send it back to you then because it has no Orange logo? Probably not, but who knows with that unpredictable beast that is Orange.

When phones are 'new' on Orange, Orange will merely soft lock them and stick a makeshift version of their software on the phone.
A case in point is the launch of the original T68m. It was first sold on Orange in their own shops on December 22nd 2001, where standard T68s were patched up with Orange software and sent out with Orange connections as Orange phones. Carphone Warehouse and other selected stores were allowed to do this by Orange too.
On March 12th, the first batch of Ericsson-manufactured Orange-approved phones shipped to the UK, which has Orange badges on the front, and Orange's own release version of their software. The same is now happening with the T68i, which could sadly mean that T68m owners on Orange will have to wait until October to get the official T68i software upgrade. |

Drinky.....
So what is the difference between the 'makeshift' s/w that Orange put on the 'new' phones compared with those done later?
Does that mean that I am not getting as good a phone as I have bought it as soon as it came out on Orange?
Does it also make it easier for the phone to be unlocked for any network?
Sorry for all the q's!
Thanks. |
