if you've gotten your p800 to successfully pair with your laptop, then that's more than half the battle. next, you have to create the gprs connection on the phone that will be able to access the internet. get the settings from your network provider. in some cases, the gprs settings for internet access differ from wap/gprs settings.
this is the tricky part. once you have the settings, if you look at the internet connections on your p800, you will see a list of several connections. (your gsm connection, then connections for mms, wap, and the internet connection). on a t68, under data accounts, you would see that each connection has a CID no, i.e. the 3rd connection setting you made would display CID=3. thus, the number you would dial up to access this particular connection when paired via BT would be *99***3#.
the p800 does not list CID nos, or at least i have not seen them. what i had to do was to scroll down the list and see which 'number' the connection was on the list, then plug it into the dial up number. the funny thing is that my internet connection was 7th on the list. however, for some reason when i dialled *99***7# it was not using the right connection but it worked with *99***8#. so a bit of trial and error there.
lastly, if you haven't done so already, upgrade your firmware to r2d or r2f. the upgrade includes an improved and more stable BT module (r5a). |
