No problem with Vodafone (Vfe), international roaming possible with many operators.

GPRS settings can be requested via the operator's hotline as OTA (over the air) activation, i.e. you get an Autoconfig SMS and just press OK to install. The operator hotline is +49-172-1212, free of charge.

Or, very simple (working for plain (non-premium) services), you define a new GPRS account:

Control Panel -> Internet accounts -> New (any account name, connection type GPRS) -> Advanced: Address = "web.vodafone.de"

that's all you have to specify. Then just go for it.

ask the operator for international charges, and whether GPRS roaming works with your home operator subscription.

enjoy!

Cost's and availability depend on which Network provider you are with. You will not have to change your settings in anyway of your network provider has a roaming agreement with the foreign network.

This is because the GPRS Access Point has an identifier string to say which network it is routing to that you cannot actually see. It is something like this -

mobile.o2.co.uk/nnc.nmc.blah blah blah.......

For information on O2 GPRS pricing bands while abroad, check out this link - http://www.o2.co.uk/business/productsservices/mobileservices/travelling/using/gprs.html

Just go to the bottom of the page and it will list all networks that are available.
