Any of you got this setup? I got mine yesterday and just can't seem to get it installed, I downloaded the winzip file with the Me driver but I can't get the install wizard to find it, where the hell does a self installing driver go? And what am I doing wrong? This is driving me mental, really need some help. A step by step guide from one of you more technically minded people would be great.
The pc recognises that the IR device is there but when It tries to add the software to make it owrk it just keeps saying "this location does not have any infomation for your hardware................please help |

I had this problem also, but with win xp. Follow this link and download the instructions for installing the driver.

You have to point windows to the driver. I think this should solve your problem.

Yeah got the disc, but it only contains drivers for Windows 95 and 98, thats why I had to download the driver for ME edition. I take it if you have 95 or 98 all you do is open the software on the disc, click create driver and then add new hardware, when it asks for software just direct it to the driver you created? Oh I wish I had 98 so this could be easy |

When i opened my handset manager disc on computer it came up with a screen giving different options i installed the device driver in a place i knew eg. C:/MyDocuments
Then go to add new hardware in control panel and say pick item from a list. Keep clicking next till u get a screen with have disk button. Click this and type the location u saved the driver in. Then it should work fine. |

Ah, I think I may know the problem, I did all that you say with creating the driver and then installing new hardware, but when I put in the location it says the driver is not for my hardware.
The problem may be that I don't seem to have said IR device MA-600, what I have is a IR device of unbranded type. But I am asuuming it is supposed to work off the Drivers for the ma-600 as this is the software provided and also handset manager.
Here is a link to the IR device I have

Very confusing all this
Wish I had just got a data cable now, I guess this is what I get for trying to use modern technology:( |
