I have downloaded directly to P800 a trial version of Tracker (1.01) and performed the automatic installation. No problem was shown.

However, after rebooting the phone, the boot was incomplete and I had access only to the phone functions of P800. I could dial and receive calls and see the dialers info from my contacts but I could not access the rest of the OS programs like Messages, Calendar, Programs not even browse through my contacts list.

I'm a bit desperate because in two days I have an important business trip and I have to have P800's full functionality back by then!

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try uninstalling Tracker? I'd do that first, and then when you get back from business worry about it. A new version of Tracker will be out by then anyway.

If you've already uninstalled Tracker and it still is broke, then backup your phone (if you haven't recently) and try a reset.

Shane thanks for the reply.
I would have uninstall it or reset it if I had access to those functions in my phone!

The application toolbar at the top as well as the status bar at the bottom are missing and I have tried unsuccessfully various tricks to access the other P800 apps.

I know that restore is the last frontier but it means that I'm loosing some data and also I'm not so sure if restore will cure it.

Is there a way to make a hardware reset?

I had a similar problem when I installed IR remote, but as I see on this forum loads of other people have installed both apps without problems.

I can only assume that it must be a bug in the installation routines on the P800.

When I installed IR Remote I rebooted the phone but had lost a lot of the icons at the top of the screen, could not access Control Panel and could only use basic phone functions. I did a restore from a backup and thankfully it all worked well!

I just hope you backed up your phone recently! If not, that's a lesson for us all...

Thanks mbailey, it feels much better to know that it has also happened to someone else and that the problem can be solved.

I only have to wait until tommorow to make a restore from my office.
