Can this really be so?
If I want to jump to time 3.45 in an MP3 song, I can't?
There is no search function built in?
If I'm mistaken, please tell me how to do so and if I'm not, what the hell was SE thinking?!?!?!

Don't think you can with MP3, but try OGGPlay, it's a much better music player, the latest version (0.6) has a search function, and OGG files are about half the size of a similar MP3. Sure you'll have to convert all your MP3s, but it really is worth it!
