After a little conversation with the sonyericsson help desk, I have finally came up to that I will not be able to acheive more than 19.2KBps when connecting to my ISP using the built-in modem in my t39. This is because the t39 uses two time slots for HSCSD, and the telephone company I am using uses 9.6 KBps for each time slot. Had I selected a telephone company that used 14.4 insatead, I would have reached 28.8, accordingly. Another way would of course be to find a phone that uses three time slots, which would also give 28.8. I have tried to find out how many time slots that are used for each phone on the data sheets on the sonyericsson web, but I cannot find that particular information. Does anyone know if there exists such a phone? ( Preferrably a phone)

You are right, I have europolitan so I can get 28kbps with the Ericsson phones.......

The Ericsson phones use 2 time slots.
I am afraid that Nokia has phones that HSCSD up to 43.2 kbps. (3+1 for non transparent)

Nokia 6210 for example is one... I wonder why Ericsson only allows for 2 time slots, as I understand it it is not harder to make a 3 Time slot mobile for GPRS than for HSCSD
