Just puchased a second p800 yesterday from CPW UK. When i bought the phone home and powered it up, i dicovered that the screen has two white dots in it which are Visible all the time when the phone is switched on.
When you have the phone in your hand and put it at different angles, the white dots dissapear. It's like a hologram, visible only on certain angles, ie when looking staight down at it, and not there, at different angles.
There dots are right underneath the screen.
Do you think this these are dead pixels? and what is the exchange policy with having dead pixels? The phone is not even one day old.

Dead pixels means that you can get a new one without charge according to SE.

LordMike, the is that same policy with CPW too.
i dony want to go to CPW and they say one or two dead pixels are okay.
because, when i bought my dell laptop, i had one dead pixel and dell state anything less than 5 dead pixels are okay and not subject to reapair or excahnge. anything more than thatt, they will repair or change it over.
thanks. |

UPDATE: Went to Carphonewarehouse, and they changed the phone without any problem.
but the phone they gave me is used, it had finger prints on the screen and there were pictures taken on the phone and there was a number in the call list.
but it had a addendum in it with all the new features from the new firmware. checked the firmware and it is r2d and had night mode for cam and sms delivery reports.
the phones looks new, as in not scratched or marks, do you think they opened the phone to do a firmware upgrade on it? all the accessories werent open and the battery was near enough dead.
should i take it back and get it changed.

Exactly the same thing happened with me, they replace my first one with a used one and when I took it home I found there is two dead pixels … I ran to them and they replace it immediately (coz I was screaming).
My new one is great really great.
