the background only appears when the flip is closed.
you may, however, have a fullscreen screensaver when the flip is open.  |

yup, your screen will go blank because of the power saving feature. you can set this on the display settings screen

you have the option in settings to have the screensaver disappear after sometime or can have it appearing throughout.... but then be ready to have the phone recharged everyday.... screen savers eat up power.
