Go to Settings -> Language -> T9 input |

Those are the two ways to get you started on T9. arnoldc's option is the way for setting whether T9 should be on by default or not. While Ne0's option assumes that you have activated T9 already, this allows you to toggle on or off the T9 while in the text window.
If T9 is off, pressing the * key will show a popup window where you can chooose an input language to use. ("language" in this case, is kinda used weirdly ) |

One more thing, you can get a PDF version of the right manual from the website for your phone.
It's probably even better than printed manuals coz they're updated whenever changes/corrections are made.

Tagalog is for menus, *not* T9. |
