I have searched and searched and I cannot find a solution that works to this problem:

I have TECOM3030 dongle, currently trying to use Billionton 1.3.2.7 software/drivers on win2k with my p800 (R2D), and I can discover and pair my p800 no problem. However, whenever I try to connect the bluetooth serial port I get the "remote device closed the connection" message. It does seem to connect though as PC suite becomes active. Every time though, the connection just dies after 2 minutes and the PC suite says "not connected". Another sympton is that following the first of these occurrences, the BT tray icon dies and I can no longer click on it.

I originally tried the TECOM software/drivers which did exactly the same thing and the software seemed even more flaky.

Does anyone hve a working solution in terms of this dongle with p800 and any software? This is driving me crazy!

i don't know how it works on tha p800...

in tha t68, u gotta go to the "connect" menu, then "bluetooth", "options", "operation mode", then select ON instead of default "automatic"... as u see it's also not very intuitive. it might be the same...

hope it helps!

in de bottom-right of your taskbar (xp) you can see the phone connection link picture double click it
then enable every bluetooth option there is
now try and open a connection to your p800 again it will automaticly add a "my p800" picture right next to it

and you can download the new pc suite version 1.5.1
http://www.sonyericsson.com/downloads/PCSuiteForP800_rel_1.5.1_AE.exe

hope this helps
dont know for other versions of windows

Cheers for the help - I thought it was working for a second then as the connection stayed up for a little longer, but it still dies after a shirt time. I actually worked it out a bit more now. When the connection is made, it seems it will stay up indefinitely (well, I left it for a good 10 minutes) as long as I just browse the phone using the My P800 icon. But as soon as I initiate any sort of file transfer in either direction, it says the phone isn't connected. I have stopped all the firewall software that I can see running on my work laptop - is there anything else that could be bringing down the connection?

Cheers

I have the same issues (R2C bluetooth in P800) The problem is definately the phone since i can connect my T39 or t68 for days without problem. I have found that if i don't acknowledge when the PC says "could not connect" or "remote device close the connection" The connection stays up. I think there is some kind of handshake going on because the connection goes up and down a few times but after a few minutes it stays up

After a few minutes i can acknowledge "Ok" so the pop up window goes away and the conection still stays up for as long as I want.
I have tried with different BT dongles and SW but always the same result. Try to wait to click ok and tell me how it worked out

Cheers for the answers guys - I'll try your suggestion Gatlin - sounds quite possible to me. BTW, are you running on XP or Win2K? I've been trying on Win2K so far at work, but gonna be trying on XP at home tomorrow.

Actually, was just thinking - when I connect by clicking on the taskbar icon (as suggested by reymun) I don't get the error message and the connection still dies. I'll give it a go tomorrow anyway and let you know how I get on.
