Hi all, I have just taken delivery of my new 128MB Duo from AVLand in Coventry this morning.
I have backed up both phone and memory card.
The old memory card had apps / games installed on to it, whats the best way to proceed ?
Do I now switch off the phone, replace the Duo switch on and restore or what ? If I switch on the phone with a blank Duo in wont the phone complain as apps that its looking for are not there ?
Advice would be gratefully received.

if you have your apps on the Mem Card and boot up the phone with no card in it then it won't complain, just your apps wont be there.

When I got my new card I liked to start from scratch rather than a back up and reinstalled everything again. But that is just personal choice.

i couldnt be arsed to do mine properly so i used a vaio to copy the contents of the 16mb stick to the desktop, then reformatted the 128mb with a different allocation size and copied it all back.

Unfortunately the folders are all in capitals (UNFILED etc) but it works perfectly.

Thanks for your replies.
I rebooted the phone, made sure no unnecessary apps were running,
backed up both phone and Duo, switched off phone, swapped Duo, turned
on phone and restored just Duo, reboot phone just to be safe.
Everything seems to be fine.

Gosh, how much space have I got now...

Just got back from work and it looks like my duo also arrived today. Bad news is that nobody was in to sign for it so i will have to wait untill tomorrow to pick it up from the sorting office.
