How can one upgrade the firmware themselves? |

I believe that the fimware is updated over the bluetooth radio link using some special bluetooth test equipment. This will probably not be possible at just any SP so they will send it away to have the ugrade done. |

dont actually own one yet.. but here's what another post said about hbh-10
Go to Connect -> Accessories -> HBH -> Settings -> Name
Change the name to "adgjm". When you go back to the settings menu, you will see Version. Press Yes, Yes.
What you will see is the version number, like R2G (this is my HBH-15 version number). |

[GDI]Raptor,
Did you just complain about the quality of your HBH-10, or did you ask for a firmware upgrade? |

Fredrik:
I told them: "I have some problems with echos in my HBH-10 Bluetooth Headset, I have heard that a Software update fixes this problem
And two weeks later, I got a new HBH-15

Raptor,
Thanks, that really is a problem. My headset can't be more than 1-2m away from the phone, and needs clear sight. Having the phone in my pocket results in disturbance on the line.
I'll drop by a SP next week. |

I received mine yesterday.
It has a very poor sound quality (crackling) and poor reception (up to just 1m).
The version is:
CAH109158_P1AF
Does this mean version R1A and is there a possibility of doing the firmware upgrade yourself ?

@sooty, when you see CAH109158_P1AF, press Yes one more time, then you will see the version number. if you just got it yesterday, it should have a version R2G or later.
the bluetooth headsets are harder to upgrade than the T68. not all service points can do that.
not all HBH-xx problems are caused by the headset itself. i have had problems with voice dialing (50% miss), and distance. but after my *phone* was replaced, i now have 95% success on voice dial, and can communicate with the phone with better distance. i would say in the open, i can reach about 8 meters.

Thank you arnoldc.
After pressing yes it revealed the FW: R2G so that shoud be OK then.
Right now, it even seems to work better
I will have to do some more testing in practice I guess.
Greetz,
Chris
