I currently use Cingular Prepaid and I am unable to text Europe with Cingular.
ATT now has the GoPhone that has really good rates, I am wondering if I can text Europe with it though, specifically someon who has Orange.
Any other ideas?

ATT is blocking my sms to europe. In fact , your phone will say message send , message delivered but they never get anything in europe. So i got charged for nothing.

Unfortunatly, the server that is used by most of the carriers cannot garuntee delivery to europe or the rest of the world (something to do with the way the numbers are.) Europe usually works, though. Try sending the message as an email. Kind of a pain, I know, but haven't heard of that failing. |

Hi I'm on the Orange network in the UK. I used to have problems texting my friends in other European countries and i was always email Orange to complain my messages were not been delivered. Make sure you input the number with +44 and miss out the first "0" from the mobile number i.e. my number is 07813****** so should be imputed as +447813****** . Also check this page on the Orange website http://www.orange.co.uk/cgi-bin/international/country.pl and select USA from the drop down box. If your network operator is not listed there then the chances are that you will not be able to text an orange user in the UK.

For a flawless SMS service to AND from Europe, check out T-Mobile. They sucked as of a year ago, but now they rock. |
