UK peeps : sw upgrade - service centres |

Hey yo
Anyone in the UK listening ? Living in berkshire and have a t68 lunar. However, seems there are no competent service centres nearby and sonyeric.... helpline was not very helpful !!!
One service centre in Slough ( who shall remain nameless ) has managed to erase its phone-writing sw from its PCs ( !!!!!!! ) , and the other I spoke to nearby doesnt even know what the next sw version is going to be !!!!!
Am I surrounded by people who don't know what they are doing ? UK peeps with some nearby centres that have half a clue, could you please reply and give me a hand before the T68 gets used as a football !

Can we extend this thread to cover all of the UK? Maybe it could be made sticky or turned in to a seperate page in the future?
Anyway... post away people. Where's your nearest service centre? I for one would love to know of the nearest one to me in Central Birmingham.

There are quite a few in London the two I remember being DVH in wimbledon and R's electronics on totenham high road |

Yep drive past the ericsson shop in sale everyday. Have been approved by se and are waiting for all the kit to be sent. Very helpfull and know what they are talking about unlike the place in warrington. ed

Don't touch Convergent in Leicester. Bunch of halfwits the lot of them. they tell you to go in at a certain time then refuse to serve you as it's too busy. The guy told the customer in front of me that he couldn't help him as they don't know that much about Ericsson phones! This is a SE approved centre! |

Nearist one as far as I know to St Albans is Hertford. There's a shop there which says it can unlock ALL phones. |

Hi everyone!
Pocklington near to York, Convergent Telecom - maybe best to avoid here for a good while!
On Tuesday, I asked them to upgrade T68m --> T68i and.... Nope! They upgraded my T68m to the latest T68m software. STUPID ME, I didn't notice til I go home, one hours drive!
So I called them back and was told by an engineer - 'of course! T68m --> T68i NO PROBLEM and dunno why the engineer did it wrong in the first place, please can you call by tomorrow?'
So, I called after my long drive and left my T68m and sat in my car listening to relaxing music..... then tap tap.... at my window.... ' sorry, we can see the 'T68i' software but we can't download it. '
So SE recommended Convergent Telecom but... forget it!! So no joy....
So I phoned Car Phone Warehouse who said they will send it away....OK but then I called SE handset support and was told 'don't let CWP do the upgrade because your handset warranty will be void.
CWP says my insurance taken out with them is void if I send it to SE directly!!!
Bah!! I am going to drink more beer... and try to erase today.

Fritz, your nearest service point is CRC UK Sandiacre. I phoned them today, they told me they have been waiting 2 weeks for the upgrade software and to call them next week to see if they have it then. Will wait, cuz they are good there.

Car phone warehouse at "hedge end" in Southampton did mine yesterday. They havn't got many to do at the moment so get in there quick!!!!!!!!!!!!  |
