Anyone successful in using handwriting to come up with the "$" sign?

Troublesome to to activate the virtual keyboard everytime or need to write the word "dollar" in its place...

Did a simple search on handwriting and found this:
it is in view > help > handwriting recognition.
I tried that and I found the $

yup, seems pretty straightforward - the usual special character sign (vertical line from bottom to top in the numeric area) followed by a dollar sign.

Why is there no mention of this in the manual?!

Thanks heaps for the info. I was just playing with my friends Palm today & thinkihg itwould be great to be able to input extended characters using recognition rather than going to the virtual keyboard, & nw I can!

This is just another example of how great Esato is. I read the manual from cover to cover twice & I really didn't think there would be anything beyond that in the Help files.

Damn! I just saw the section in the manual about referring to the Help files for info on Extended Chracters. Oh well. Esato still rules.
