I have a T68i Sony Erricson and a Packard Bell laptop (EasyOneSilver model) running Windows XP Pro.
But I cannot get the infrared connection to work. I activate the IR setting on the T68i and place it next to the IR on the laptop but the majority of the time the laptop doesn't detect it.
On the rare occasions the laptop does detect the phone, the IR symbol on the Windows task bar and the 'Send Files to IR' icon on the desktop are only shown for a few minutes and then the connection is lost again!
In Windows control panel under the advanced settings for the IR port I dont understand what the settings are about nor what they should be set to (there's some A & B setting and what should the max speed be set to?)
I got it to work ages ago when I loaded windows up in some mode where you select what drivers etc. windows loads up (it wasn't Safe Mode, but I cant remember how I did it now!). I turned most of them off, restarted windows and it worked.
I was able to send jpg pics to my phone using the 'Send Files to IR' icon.
Under normal windows and the rare occasion the phone is detected, if I use the 'Send Files to IR' to try and send a jpg file the applecation comes up 'Not Responding'.
I tried a friends nokia phone and that did exactly the same as my T68i.
I wanted to set my phone up to use the modem to dial up an internet connection but I cant even get the laptop and phone connected!
