I've just had my UK Orange phone upgraded to R2F and R5A for the Bluetooth and while this has made using my Motorola bluetooth headset possible, I don't think it is perfect.

I still have problems if I try to answer a call by opening the boom on the headset. This works perfectly with my trusty old T68. Sometimes the call just transfers back to the handset but a couple of times yesterday it dropped the call.

Most other uses of the headset seem to work. Since the firmware upgrades if a call drops it is still possible to close the headset, open it again and resume working (prior to the upgrade it was necessary to reset the headset by plugging it into a charger).

Just wondering if anybody wants to contribute to a list of headsets that work, what functions work and which phone firmware versions they work with.

Please follow up here and if I get enough response I'll collate.

Graeme

p.s. If I can't get this fixed by Tuesday the P800 goes back to Orange.... I like it as a PDA but not enough to compromise on its use as a phone: in the year that I have had the BT headset with my T68 its become the only way I use my phone.

I had such a problem with the old firmware, but when I update it to R2F it's definitely better (with HBH-15).

When you’re pairing with HBH-15 set the phone to "discoverable" then pair it with the headset, when the pairing is succeeded put the "Auto" option back.
It’s now perfect after the updating to R2F.

There is a new firmware upgrade?? Geez just got it upgraded to R2D less than a month ago.

Anyway, the link between my HCB-30 (BT car kit) and my P800 is kinda flaky. Doesn't seem to work 100% of the time. Encountered a few cases where I can't take the call on the HCB-30.

At other times, it just works great.. no problems at all *sigh*

Must go chk SE again to see if the new firmware helps.

Got R1D, works perfectly with my HBH-60 and HCB-30. No complaints at all. Have to have BT switched 'on' to get full functionality though.
