Yes, a data-cable is required. IR or BT won't do it, however I don't know where to get the firmware-file :-l

Huh? I thought IR does the same as the cable, so what's the difference?

But the IR-port is controlled by the software, I think. So when the software is being exchanged it can't controll the IR-port. That's what I've read at least...
