Hi guys,
I've had a search around the forums, but due to the large amount of posts, it's getting difficult to track information down. Anyway, can anyone help me?
I have a Blue Monkey USB adapter connected to a Dell desktop PC running Windows XP Pro, with all the latest service packs, upgrades etc and Outlook 2002
I've loaded the XTNDConnect Blue Manager that came with the adapter and that can see the phone, share files etc OK.
I've also loaded the Sony Ericsson Communications suite (filename Package1_1_5_4.exe) from the Sony Ericsson website.
My problem (which looking at the other posts seems quite common) is that the XTNDConnect PC software will not recognise my phone, and therefore will not sync with Outlook. My phone is on COM3, so I have disabled all the other ports in Phone Monitor Options in control panel.
Sometimes when I launch XTNDConnect PC, the Blue Manager software says that an application is trying to open a device on COM3 and which should it use. In the list is only my phone, but when I select "make this the default option" and select OK, the syncronisation still fails. Any ideas?
Regards,
Lee

Also,
I've just tried to make a dialup connection, and that seems to work fine. Once again, when I initiate the dial-up, the Blue Manager software asks which device I want to use. Funnily, it has now found another phone in the building (a nokia 7650). Anyway, when I select my phone, the dial up works fine on COM4. In phone monitor in control panel, I have disabled all ports apart from COM3, but this function still works using COM4. Just to clarify, when I'm trying to sync, when Blue Manager asks me which device to use, when I click my phone, the sync just fails after about 20 seconds.
How does XTNDConnect PC know which COM port to search. Does it search them all. The option to select configure on the Sony Ericsson phone in the XTNDConnect PC start page is grayed out????

click on windows start>settings>control panel>phone monitor options.
under the com ports tabs, you'll find the list of ports which you may opt to enable ,disable or reserve for MPM use.
