Hi guys.

CeBit 2002 is now open!!!

Well, I just wondered if SE will release the MMS-upgrade simultanously with the CeBit-opening? Any idea??? It's a really good time to release it I think

What do you think???

Johan

Yes I would say it is a perfect occasion. Problem is that I do not have any influence on when the software is released. The T68i is officially out in the shops here in Stockholm this week, so it should not be a question of waiting for that. The issue of the user guide still worries me though......Well let us hope....:-)

But don't any of you agree with me that it's a perfect moment to release the MMS-update on the opening day of CeBit?? If I was the CEO of SonyEricsson I would do that But I'm not... I'm the proud owner of the T68m

and if you were the CEO, would you tell us? I agree with you, however, and think it would be a perfect way for Ericsson to make its customers happy to be the owners of a T68, the most advanced color phone to date and to keep its customers loyal

If I was the CEO of SonyEricsson? Hm... I think I would have handled this T68m vs T68i thing a little more open. Think the customers get too little information, and that the information between the SonyEricsson is too bad! Their international offices don't know a damn sh*t! If I was the CEO of SE I would be more open to my staff and my customers! Let's hope they will give us the update tomorrow, so our confidence with SE will be restored! Agree?

Harleydog:

I think "wapmanse" wasn't doing that with purpose... It's a bug when posting from via WAP I think.

Yes I agree with the release tomorrow. However, I would differ on you from a CEO standpoint. It is important to keep information relating to new products under control, otherwise there are speculations, rumors and other unfounded information. The more information you keep from the public, the more you peek their interest. Just think of how much speculation surrounded the existence of the T68i... now that it is confirmed, I would bet a lot of use will purchase it even if the only differences are only slight.

I think giving too much information can come back and bite you in the arse, but I am not a CEO, would like to be some day. Marketing is a very intersting and intriguing field

Yes, but if you think of this case we are involved with right now: we are waiting for the MMS-upgrade... We don't know IF we are going to get it, WHEN we will get it or anything! I think it would been better if they gave us a spesific date, so we didn't have to feel that we are waiting for sooooo long! If you are spesific and say: "The MMS-upgrade for T68m will be avaiable on all SP the 31th of March", then we didn't have to be so pissed off on SE! Do you understand my point? I agree that sensitive information about productspecs and features should be more confidential, but like this MMS-update, I really think they have handled it on a very bad way... They should give us a spesfic date, and we would have been very satisfied I think.

yes and no.

SE can't release products that are not supported by our networks, at least when it comes to big releases like the MMS. Had we received the MMS update on March 4 and noone could use it on their networks, SE would have had to field thousands of calls asking about why their MMS does not work on the networks. In this sense SE is ahead of the networks, which is good, but they have had to delay the release to the general public. As you can see the T68i was announced and is ready for shippment with the MMS software, so the software is ready, tested and should be released any day, one would think and i hope tomorrow is the day.

Our real complaint I think is that the MMS software comes with some other upgrades that could have been in the original release, picturebook, screensaver, imelody and other stuff.

Right?
