Hi guys. First post for me, so be gentle
Does anyone have any insight to the Sychronisation options on the T68? Particularly the WAP option? It asks for server paths, user names and other settings! What's this all about? The Orange manual I got with it is next to useless for describing any "advanced" options the phone has.
What the does sychronise via IR thing do too? When I enable it, it tries to send a text file to my PC (WinXP, MA-600) but for what ever reason WinXP says it can't save it.
Answers, suggestions or failing that, amusing anicdotes most welcome
Cheers,
Dave. |

Wap sync allows you to have exact copies of the data (contacts etc) stored on your phone to be made either on a remote server or on your home computer, as it uses wap it can be done from anywhere you can make a call.

...theres more info on this topic in earlier threads in the wap forum (inc set up details). The IR option and bluetooth allow you to sync with your computer when your in range (1m for IR and 10m for bluetooth). You need software (download from SE site)

Thanks for posting Talha.
I was reading through your replies thinking "yeah, that makes sense". But I'm lost again!
I've downloaded all the sync. software I can find from the SE site (namely XTND Connect PC) which I have working fine.
But I use the software itself to sync my phone and Outlook... not the phone. What does the option on the phone do? What software does this expect to communicate with?
Also how do you go about setting up WAP sync? Do you need a special server or can you point your phone to any IP address?
Thanks for your help.
Dave.

Search for the "syncml" keyword. This topic has been discussed already, and a guide for setting your own config has been posted already.
