T68i as a bluetooth adapter |

Hi, this might be a new one for all of you...
Is it possible, by linking my T68i to laptop using a data cable (USB in my case), to use the T68i as a bluetooth adapter?? (i.e. instead of buying a bluetooth card for my laptop).
I assume this would require some special software if it is possible.
Thanks. |

Nope.
I see where you're coming from but no such software exists and there are practical problems like the fact that the reason it works is because the PC creates a virtual bluetooth serial port.
Basically, just no.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I understand what you said, although I don't know much about bluetooth and creating virtual serial ports
However, I believe the data cable I have (Sony Ericsson DCU-10) also creates a virtual serial port. It appears in the device manager under "ports" as a com port - could this make it possible to develop software to make the T68i a bluetooth adapter?
I just wonder if there would be a way to activate bluetooth in the same way that GPRS is activated by creating a dial-up connection and dialling a GPRS "access number". I'm just thinking out loud, and probably making no sense!
Either way, I understand there is no software available at this stage so it's not possible. |

It would help if you could specify exactly what you intend to do with it... or what you're trying to do.
If you could use your T68i as a BT adapter, what would you pair it with? Or why would you want to do that? If it's already connected to your PC... why would you need a BT connection? |

Good point
I would like to use it to link my laptop to my Pocket PC. All I'm really trying to do is avoid forking out the cash for a bluetooth card for my laptop. |
