Hi,
I'm a proude owner of SE P800 and a somewhat proude owner
of a Nec e606 3G phone. Since my operator, Vodafone, sucks
here in Sweden it would be great if I could use the REALLY
high speeds that 3s giving me with 3G on my P800. Since
both phones has BT I thought it would be a wonderfull idea to
use the e606 as a modem through BT. I have paired the two
devices with eachother but what's next? How do I make the P800
understand that it should be using the e606?
Anyone tried this before or could give me some hints?
Thanks in advance |

i tried the same situation by pairing my R520m and P800, however, we need an extra program to use R520 (or another phone) as a modem.
PsiNT did write a program for Nokia 9210/i and it was working excellent, hope they can build like ti for P800, too..

Yeah, but they will soon losen their restrictions and let you out to the big world. That are probably very careful at the begining but after a
few months they will probably take this away. As I understand it it's
the software in the phone who stops you? |

ooh this is more like it.
I have a friend who uses a 9210i with a t68i to provide gprs.. as the guy above says, this needed specific software written for the 9210 to be able to do it... if there was some way we could add an ir modem to the p800 it would work I would think.. but Im afraid this is the sort of thing that will probably never come to fruition.
Shame.

But how can we use the computer as a modem if it has Bluetooth? I mean if the computer has a BT dongle and the phone get's in range my e-mail are sent via the computer. Is there really no solution to this? |

yeah just think about this:
end of 2002. sony ericsson releases the p800, the most advanced gsm/gprs phone ever.
summer/end of summer 2003. nokia will release the new ("9310"?) communicator and will be the most advanced umts/gsm/gprs phone ever, beating the p800.
now... sony ericsson is actually working on the p800 substitute that will hopefully be unveiled at the end of this year or the beginning of 2004. it will be a super ultra p800 with umts and all that cool stuff, won't it?
