hey, i'm just wondering if this is possible, to convert mp3's to polyphonic tones. if so, what programme do i use ?

What you need to do is look for a mp3 -> wav convertor
Once you've got that get a wav -> midi convertor
The quality will have been reduced significantly, but thats life i'm afraid.
Then use sendfile (data cable) or IrDA to send the midi file to your phone.
