I just bought the T68I and i am new to this forum.I have two question to ask.1)First,i notice that the area of the display near to the bottom left(near to the yes button) is brighter than the other area,is this normal? The symptom more clearly shown when i switch off the phone or on the phone.
2)Will brightening the constrast too bright damage to the display?

Changing the contrast wont cause any damage to your phone. It does however sound like your screen is damaged. The problem you talk about can occur when too much pressure is applied to the screen. I would take the phone back and get it replaced, a bad screen will just get more and more annoying.

Phil.

Yes, the only way to get that fixed, is to take it back, to get replaced...

I have had that problem with my last phone (my second t68i). To test it out go to Fun & Games and Draw picture. Now make the picture as big as possible and black, save it. When you view it in My pictures it should show you all the places where the lcd is different. My new phone has the same problem only less than my old one. I dont want to get it replaced and lose all my ringtones. My lcd does something else sometimes, it just suddenly (while im using it) go a bit darker and all the diff contrast problems are fixed, but this doesnt last. If it is really bugging you you can take the phone back. I dont want mine replaced, I even took the case off to see what could be applying the pressure but couldnt see anything? Does anyone know that if i where to take my phone to a SE centre that they might just replace the screen and not the whole phone?

You might be able to replace the screen. I saw a couple of replacement screens on eBay the other day. The screen come with the backlight built in. The backlight is what is causing the problem. You could also see if the you can adjust the light tubes to their correct position. Your warranty gets voided though.
