Orange GPRS - Wap/Internet Browsing |

This is not to report a problem, but rather need some clarification.
I am subscribed to the Orange Access Pack, £4/month for GRPS WAP only (i.e. not internet) access. However, using the Orange GRPS WAP connection, I can browse all sites, i.e. WAP & normal HTML sites. This is great, but is this way it is meant to work on P800? I thought I would have to use the Orange GRPS Internet connection to browse normal (i.e. non-wap) sites.
Thanks,
Saquib

No thats right. I have been using the Access pack to browse both for a couple of months now and so far no additions to the bill. Just make sure you use the Orange GPRS WAP APN to connect and all should be well. |

It is correct as long as you use the Orange GPRS WAP APN, not all sites work but a lot do. Orange can't tell at the mo. whether its a WAP site or 'normal' website it is just data. |

thank you for claryfying that....can u still use Opera when using Orange's Wap Gprs?? i ask cause i also have an O2 SIM and i'm using the WAP GPRS and I get problems if i wanna use Opera. Something about the settings or what not.
bah in the terms and conditions http://www.orange.co.uk/service_plans/pay_monthly/your_plan/terms_accessplan.html
they say this: "Currently high usage of Orange GPRS Access pack is defined as 10MB"
so that's the max a month? that's good I guess but if you start downloading a lot of stuff...
and isn't that flase advetising?? unlimited my ass...unlimited means unlimited... i checked their little star comment and it only applies to CSD costumers...

Dont worry I used over 20MB GPRS Wap and wasnt charged a penny extra. The 10MB is a guideline only AFAIK. Oh and yeah Opera only works using GPRS profile not Wap. ~Eva

I have also noticed that it does not allow mail access as well. Have to use the internet GPRS account.

that's true saquib...i guess i might have to use the regular internet for email and anything else that requires it, and the unlimited wap for browsing sites.
can't wait till we have chips implanted in our brains and the size issue goes back to being something else. |

Yeah email only works via GPRS Internet profile, but still £4 a month is not be sniffed at for unlimited WAP/Web surfing! Also CSD works on websites too ^_^ ~Eva
