After having R2D installed at the SE service centre a week ago, I breathed a sigh of relief that I finally had "the big one" (ie the upgrade that really mattered).

Well the phone has just suddenly started to display:

"...The internal file system was found to be corrupted and will now be reformatted.

..."

Has anybody got any idea why this is?

I read other posts that "we" are all now meant to move to R2F, which will be my sixth trip to the SE centre.

Since I was between computers my last backup is three day old which is a real bummer but better than nothing.

Any tips on how to get the phone working without taking the option? (and how SE continue to get away with this?)

Thanks

Mike

I’ve never get such a thing, I have R2F and I’m happy with it …. Nor any problem ….
Try to send it back to the SE center and ask them to reflash it again.

Thats nothing to do with the firmware.

Ive had that same message on r1d and it is a standard message for when there is a problem with the internal memory on the phone - nothing to do with the firmware.

In my case I was away for the weekend taking loads of pictures - I moved them to the duo when the internal was full, then took loads more until the phone was full. About an hour later, corrupt memory.

Now I've got a couple of 128mb duo's I don't expect it to happen again

@Mike
Yes i had that message, when i formatted it i had the CDA version left with "Unavailable". though i can still use it, it just bothers me having Unavailable nstead of the specific version itself.

well, it ain't that stable, had the thing with the buttons being accidentally pressed during a call (coz your cheek is hitting the buttons, see other threads on this BBS) and while this was during a walk, it happened a few times during the conversation and all of a sudden the line was gone and the display showed the 10s reset animation!
