Try closing and opening the flipcover. Speaker phone should get activated automatically. |

You could also push the jog dial up and select speaker on. |

On my phone, the speaker phone is activated when the flip is opened. So if you answer the call when the flip is closed, open it will activate speaker phone. If you answer the phone as you have the flip opened, close it and open it again will activate the speaker phone.

I think after dialing with the flip open, you still need to close and reopen the flip again to activate the speaker phone. |

The speakerphone will not appear to be working if the phone is on silent. Could this be the problem?
When I open the flip on mine it goes to speaker straight away so im happy with it.

It is a bad idea to use your phone while driving, use a hands free or car kit then you dont need speakerphone.
Its becoming an offence in UK & it may be because of more death on the roads due to people not concentrating on driving properly.

pachy:
Scientist has now discovered that using handsfree is just as dangerous as talking in the phone, due to something with the concentration level, and respons time if something happens.
Still; I prefer using a headsett while driving!
Kind Regards

I think the speaker phone is a great option but i use the supplied hands free in the car, so i can listen to the ogg player when driving and when someone calls me it automaticly cuts the player, and when i hang up it starts the player where it left off.
Is this not easy enough |

Yes, i agree that all gagets in the car distract concentration, also i believe speed cameras dotted all over UK that let your insurance company steel more money from you because of the extra points on your licence for doing 34 in a 30 at 4am on a deserted road, also take away the concentration.
Because we are either looking at our speedometers OR in the mirror to see if we are flashed & before we know it, we run over some children, NOTserious as my bumpers are wipe clean smooth plastic |

Pachy Hi -Jabra headset auto answers - should help drivers and those who get caught in public using their magic words could be embarassing! Nokia have a car kit which mutes the radio and auto answers, those were the days.
How about battery life - wot battery life. I have to charge my P8 twice in 24 hrs. Is there a better battery in the pipeline? Or do I buy another battery and do SE do a charger ? Oh Pachy who knows all tell me :-0 Orn8. |

aint there a checkbox for speakerphone?
@pachy- i've heard that in local news too, the fact that you're using a mobile phone decreases response time to events dramatically. even tuning the radio is dangerous. i've also seen that line of study in Discovery channel. |
