T68 Microphone Sensitivity |

Hi guys,
Tested a T68 the other day, noticed that the microphone is very sensitive. It's picking up a lot of background noise so much so that it's very hard for the receiving call party to hear me talking.
First I thought it's due to the large number of people(in the background - Shopping center with A LOT OF people) and thus it's normal. Then just to prove if it that's the case, I used my T28 to call the SAME person at the SAME SPOT(Same Network to Network call) and suprisingly it came out as Good if not better noise cancellation. He didn't have to strain himself to actually listen to what I was saying. I tried the same thing using a Nokia 3210 on another Network to call him and it was also Good.
So, guys, is the MIC too sensitive? Picking up a lot of background noise? He also commented that there's this Humming Sound.
Comments?
Thanks. |

Yeah, I have a T68 and my girlfriend keeps saying she can't hear me because of all the noise and she gets echo feedback. It's the only thing I don't like about the phone, and as phone conversations are the purpose of the phone it is pretty crucial |

I have a similar problem. On Ericsson service they said me that SW upgrade on R1C will solve this problem!
Coments? |

perhaps you can ask around the persons you've called to see if there really is an issue. I've owned(am still) a t28 and I can safely say that my confidence in Ericsson has been an all time low due to it. (4 Warranty changes)
Since the T28 incidence, I preach always that A Mobile should perform as a MObile should. Be able to Make and Receive Calls as what a PHOne Should. No matter what additional functions there is. It's cool though.
SO, once they have R1C out and if anyone's flashed it already, please post your findings. It'll be important for me to consider getting a T68 in the near future.
Thanks for any and all comments.

I have a T68 with the R1c software and have never had any problems, complaints or otherwise with the micro, although when using the HB-10 headset, people claim there is a strange echo, not sure if its the headset or the car.
Anyway, i had some issues with R1B, but since the upgrade its worked perfectly |

Harleydog,
DO yo mean to say that with R1B software, you have that problem but since you've upgraded it to R1C, the Problem is no more there? Am I correct to say that?
Your answer is very important to me. Thanks. |

Nikeow;
Sorry, but I cannot tell you for sure if RC1 improved the micro sensitivity. Noone ever complained about the inability to hear me or the background noise, but i definately have seen some improvements with the new sw |

Harleydog,
Thanks for the info. It wasn't much help but thanks anyway.
Now, if only someone can VERIFY if it really is true. Yo, harleydog, did you ask your pals if they can hear you clearly or have to strain? What about if in a Noisy place?
Thanks man.. |

NIKEOW : I own the T-68 with new R1C software. No one has ever complained about background-noice.
Even when walking in the middle of a larger city or i.e. in a shopping mall.
Or when using Bluetooth headset while driving.
The T-68 doesnt have a problem with echo either.
My T-39 had this "echo-effect",..sometimes I could hear myself talking,..really annoying.
Some of my other phones, no names mentioned, hehe, had this "echo".
But never experienced it on T-68
This is just my experience with this very good phone.

Thanks for the input. Hmm, I wonder the one I tested was what software.
Will see if I can get another one to play around with.
Thank for the input |

Hey folks,
I read in another discussion stream about this microphone problem in T68. It seems that many people have upgraded to R2B and have fixed the problem. I'm sending my phone in to Sony Ericsson today for the upgrade. I should get it back in a week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Mate you said the basic principal of the phone is to make and recieve calls ok thats true -- so why if thats so important to u do u have a t68 its a top of the range phone and costs £200 in the uk if u wanted a phone why didnt u just get the philips savy ?
However i de ur point the phone should be able to make clear calls as weel as having neat features!!! Although i have not experienced this problem myself |
