Just something that came over the line at work... AT&T Wireless is currently developing walkie-talkie service (similar to Nextel's Direct Connect) for it's GSM network. I didn't get an ETR on it, but it shouldn't be too long.... maybe end of the summer.
Just thought I'd let you all know, as I don't think it's been made public yet.

Cingular is launching the same BS... It's over GPRS so there's still a delay and bugs on it (no GPRS coverage, no connection). Plus I've heard that you can only 2 way with GPRS customers. I'm thinking of getting that program for my P800. |

Yeah and you need GPRS to use it.. It uses 1kb for every time you push and talk.... If there's no GPRS, you have no connection and there's at least a 1-2 second delay.... |
