Well... I think by "full length" you mean that it fits perfectly the screen...
Since in wallpaper mode the P800 squeezes images to fit, but keeps the HxW ratio to 1:1 you'll need to change your images to be 320 pixels High and 208 pixels W (the screen size in fact, and not the quite common 320x240 as on PDA's) ... that way there'll be no gap at the borders...
Keep it in mind: 320x208 (or 208x320 vertically  )
