Hi Guys!

I recently got me a T68i - after drooling over my buddy's fone for a while.
Problem that we both experience from time to time is that the fone asks for your pin number but when u try to key it in, the phone is unresposive - the screen does not light up & the numbers that u key in cannot be seen
all of the buttons seem dead because no matter what u press nothing happens - it just displays the enter pin screen
Furthermore u r unable to switch the fone off cos when u press the 'no' button, nothing happens.

So far the only way to get past this has been to remove the battery - something i am not in favor of 'cos i dont know whether it is going to damage the battery in anyway.

If any1 out there has any idea why this is happening or what we can do to fix it, please let me know!
Advice would be appreciated!

thanx!

Surely its a bug caused by ur phones firmare!the phone actualy restarts itself but cant logon on network cuz of the pin.i suspect that if u disable the pin u wont b aware of the ph restarting itself.u can also try to flash it to a newer sw version.

Hi!
thanx for the reply!

i would appreciate it if u could just clear a few things up for me?
Firstly - what is firmware??
Secondly - how exactly does one flash their software??What would i need to do this & how would i go about it??

The problem with me removing the pin request is this - here is SA we have a high cellphone theft rate.
This means that if u r on contract - like me - & some1 steals your fone, they can run up an exorbitant bill. if there is a pin lock - i at least have some control over who has access to it...
So - removing the pin request at logon isn't a feasible option for me.

Thanx for all the help!

The firmware is the software version.same thing.then u cant flash it(update software) by urself.too many things can go wrong, its expensive, u need cables..so u better go to a sonyerr center.when u have ur cellphone stollen it is usually turned on.so ur pin is useless and..they usually throw away the sim.u better think about it.
