There's a lot of conflicting information going around - it all varies dependant on source. I'd use the one mentioned in mobileburn - http://mobile.burn.com/news.jsp?Id=315.
That places at second - sounds around right.

Well, it's pretty sure that SE is losing money and that Ericsson mobile division almost went bankrupt so i think SE lost the top 5 battle. I look around and lots of ppl are buying nokia, siemens, ALCATEL (can u believe it?!)...I know only 2 (two) people owning a SE or Ericsson phone ...and believe me, i know lots of people! Most of them have Nokia 3310, 6210, 6310 & 8210. This is the top..as u can see.Sickens me too

yeah mobileburn is probably one of the most dependant sources on the net.
that information if correct but i think you missed out one one detail:
SonyEricsson is 2nd ONLY in the converged devices market (ie phones/PDA in one)
unfortunately they have fallen out of the top 5 manufacturers by handset to stupid LG which has only really released one good phone onto the market |

Well in my office of about 20 persons, i am the SE user. Nearly Everyone else (except 1 other) - Nokia. The funny thing is they do complain about nokia phones, but they would continue to buy newer nokias!

SE: Go back to shapes like the classic T68 and the shoes will sell better. While your at it fix the annoying software bugs or hesigo flaws. Oh, and make the sound better to those on the other end.

sell the T610 cheaper by 25% compared with its equivalent nokia phones. I think this will do the trick. once they try SE i dont believe they won't go back to nokia. |

lowend phones make the bulk of shipments. se doesn't sell lots of lowends, because they have shoddy lowends! this has been a problem since, remember the crappy a-series? they still don't know how to make lowend phones that's why they're out of top 5.

I know a couple of others with an SE. My brother and my next girlfriend (who wouldn't like a girl with a T68i (I have a T68)) for example. The rest of them: Nokia, Motorola, Samsung. SE and Nokia are equally used by my friends. |

paulvince is right. i can see the T610 owning the sales charts if they can get the pricing right.
you wouldnt believe this but where i live people still pick the Nokia 8310 over the T68i when they are both the same price!!

Peoples first phones tend to be Nokias, which gets them stuck on a bad trend. Well meaning but clueless parents go into shops, ask for an easy to use phone for their kid, they get a Nokia. People will often stick with what they know. So, unless Nokia release some kind of global virus into their phones that makes them swear out loud every 3 seconds they will always be #1 in the sales charts.
They sell the most yes, but that's not what makes the best company imo. Just ask most Mac users.
Anyone else see Watchdog a couple of days ago where it showed a court case being brought by a US citizen claiming that all Nokia phones have a generic fault that Nokia aren't doing anything about?
Food for thought.

I am glad to hear that higher end se phones are made better than the low end. Still need a more trend-setting look to be competitive. The mac has a niche because it is both a better design and more stylish than a pc. Imho se appears to be losing its edge, which is too bad.
