i just finished editing a picture for the screen saver, i was satisfied with my work.

the thing is you can barely see it when its on the screen saver mode. Am i missing something here or the screen saver doesnt really light up so you can see the picture even for 5 seconds!

well, you could turn screen-light-mode to "on", but that would drain your batteries much faster. I tried that with my old t68i and I went from about 250h stand-by to about 10h. No fun at all!

Maybe you could try to change the picture (colur), to see that settings show best on a dark screen.

Click on the batt icon, go to settings, then select the option for LIGHT. U can now select auto, on or off.. bewere tho, batt life will decrese if the light is on constantly.. :-)

This was an accidental but useful bit of info - thanks homer & rikard. Not because of a screensaver, but there are some situations on some days where having the screen on continuously (e.g. work) would be of major assistance. If the battery lasts at least 8 hours I'll be happy. I've only had my P800 a week - lives up to all my expectations so far, but it seems there are a lot of features like this not mentioned at all in the User's Guide (not my version anyway).

Not really a fix but a tip for you. If you have an image be it a jpeg/gif/anim gif be careful as to how many colours you use. I think I am right in saying the P800 only handles 4096 colours. If your image exceeds this then you will get banding in the picture which looks crap.

This has happened to me. Spent ages creating a screensaver when I first got my P800 and when I put it on the phone it looked that bad I just took it off straight away.

The same happens with mp4's. You get blocks of colours instead of a number of colours. When you preview it in mpegable player or what ever you use it looks perfect. Shame it doesn't support more.
