Heya all, I thought this was amazing about 5 mins ago, but its not an actual device just yet. its a mock up, I MUST STRESS THAT.
Yup, i just found information on a TV tuner that could soon be seeing its way to the P800 via the Duo Memory Stick. Have a looksie at this post

It does look like a full size Memory Stick, so it wouldn't fit in the P800. Anyway, have a look at this article:

Yeah I saw that post, thus why i edited my post for this topic as I thought it was more than a rumor, shame, but it could still see the light of day, oh, and according to slashdot folks it seems it IS a duo picture, but im not sure. Not that it matters.
it would be nice to see something like this and they have the tech and chips already, problem is the drain on the battery, however for a tv tuner i would happily clip a batt pack on the back as its not a major thing as you would only have the pack on when watching the tv. additionally it could be used as emergancy power if your normal batt goes flat

Ok, I don't want to sound like a grumpy killjoy, but I only have a few minutes a day to monitor news on esato, and filtering through repeat posts is time-consuming and annoying.
The information about the prototype MS Duo TV Tuner was originally posted back in March.

A simple search of "TV Tuner" found those two discussion threads very quickly.

NO, it clearly says: MS duo tv tuner
But it isn't coming out yet, the one in the picture is a design concept...

You've got to be kidding. You think it's ok to post a 2 month old story as if it's news-worthy? Don't waste my time.
Look, this is forum is supposed to be a community, and in a community there are rules of courtesy and etiquette. (I won't even go into your juvenile use of language.)
On other forums I belong to, people are courteous and respect one another. They don't use foul language; they don't re-post old news; they don't revive dead topics; they read-the-manual before asking hackneyed questions. If you don't support those things, FINE. You are nothing to me.
But just as you have the right to repost dead topics and spew vulgarities, I have the right to express my distate for those things, and I also have the right to tell you to use the Search Feature if I want to. (Or do you ACTUALLY think that you are the only one who gets to express an opinion around here?)
Maybe this is just the direction Esato is taking. Posts are full of misinformation, redundancies, and juvenile language anyway. There don't appear to be any moderators in sight. If that's where Esato goes, fine--there's room in the world for that kind of site.
However I guarantee you that those of us that want to have slightly more mature discussions (i.e. above the mental age of a 14 year old boy) will shuffle off elsewhere, and you children will be left to your own devices. |

wow someone's had a difficult day.
You're right to a point but you have to remember the post was made in good faith so its a lot harder to shoot down than a new post on "why doesn't my p800 have t9?" or equivalent...
I agree on the moderation thing though... most forums i think are over-moderated but i agree about esato to a point - it's just that I think esato gets soooooooo much traffic it's hard to police and moderate.
But honestly the line about "dont waste my time"... lol ...... oh yeah because the poster forced you to read it at gunpoint....
Let's keep these things in perspective. I like most I would assume, am here for 5 minutes to keep abreast of any new developments - but equally because ive got 5 mins free before dinner is ready, etc etc.
Oh and I agree about the 14yr old thing too... it's very frustrating sometimes that this forum is dedicated on the whole to owning a very expensive gadget, yet there appears to be loads of kids that own them.....

why are theyre so many people with attitude problmes on here???
if youve read the news before, then ok, leave it, dont go round causing a comotion just because of it.
to some people it may be new news, does it really hurt anybody????
and for the search facility, i try n use the thing, but never get any luck whatsoever, so i end up trapesing through all old topics anyway.
half of you lot on here are sposed to be mature adults, but u always end up criticising and whining about things.
dont you all have lives or anything better to do?

yawn!
Erm, if you read my entire post where i "rant and rave" you will see i said that it was all in good jest, meaning, I was having a laugh! I just dont have time for people that use the forum to bitch rather than discuss, and it seems you are guilty of it multiple times.
meanwhile at the bat cave... I hope everyone on here is happy and well, enjoying life with their P800. You will have to excuse me if I post a story that you already read, however that is why I try to keep unique names that clearly define what they are as the title of my posts, i mean, i didnt ask anyone to read it, its simply there if they want it. And hey, if someone comes searching for info on a TV tuner at least they are more likely to find a post now LOL
AGAIN ALL IN JEST, IM A HAPPY MAN and you lot here are all great (with a few exceptions)
Till next time

@itrends - thank you for seeing something you thought may be of interest to other users and alerting us to it. That's what this DISCUSSION forum is for. Why are there more and more tossers like ashalson on this site everyday. Don't you have children to smack or something??!
